If you have a scope at home and love to play with breadboards, you'll love this. You can make your own radio transmitter using this circuit. Max frequency few hundreds megahertz. Do not create high powered version of this. Harmonics all over the place and plus it is illegal to transmit over licensed bands. Use for low range test, 30 meters distance should be fine. You might want to use an RF choke instead of the 1k resistor at the top of the circuit . You can tune this by this formula f=1/sqrt(LC). C at the LC tank is Ctotal = C1*C2/(C1+C2). Have fun.
