When the green light is on, press the button to simulate a traffic light instantly switching it's lights from green to yellow, staying on yellow for three seconds, (as traffic lights in the United States do) and then instantly switching to red. Once the light turns red, it will stay red until you press the button again. Then, the light will instantly switch from red to green. Then it will stay green until you press the button AGAIN, then the process repeats.
