Outdoors on wet ground getting shocks using electric motor powered cement mixer - I drove metal stake into the earth in a wet area and wrapped bare wire from stake to third prong on adapter plug.  Stopping the electric bite when touching the mixer.

The wire to ground at right represents the third wire prong connected to ground at adapter plug.

Better idea would be take adapter plug and bolt connect ground wire with a battery clip on end able snap on to water pipe or other suitable grounds.  Kept in the tool box you have adapter ready to make ground connection.
