Switch and a parallel resistor is a fluorescent starter. Together with a 2uF 1kV capacitor (may need a TVS diode) can serve as lamp ignitor.

Not real tested yet, just simulate.

So how does that lamp ignite if it's not connected properly?

Lamp is connected as usual ,but in simulation circuit, it cant simulate an SOX lamp. Circuit just parallel to lamp.
