customer brought in an american made Two floruescent (ultraviolet) 3H ballasted mains (220v AC) powered handle held lamp, he had dropped it and the outer case had broken and one of the lamps had failed, rating were not readable on the tubes, but the undamaged ones measured 13kohm across the two pins, there was no starter, but the switch was configured for pre heating. I have requested parts be added to correctly show the way current flows through flourescent tubes. but in the mean time this is what I have been experimenting with to get an idea of the way current flows, my real circuit drew no more than 230ma one ballast all lamps in series as in the circuit on the right, we ended up wiring two ballasts with the lamps separate with two starters. I was tempted to use caps as a way to increase the voltage delivered to the lamps but starters were more predictable.
