It appears that 1 ohm across the emitter and collector gives an equivalent resistance of 2 ohms, resulting in 4.70 watts of power consumption. On the contrary, the circuit without a transistor gives all the energy to the motor.

The voltage drop across the motor in the simple circuit is 12v current through it is 1.5 amps, 18 watts. The voltage across other motor is 8.86 volts at 1.5 amps, 13.29 watts.
