BlinkyLight with N555

the two 1k resistors define the interval. Higher resistance = slower. Also, the 22uF capacitor has great influence on the frequency. The larger the slower. "It's a blue blinking light." "What's it do?" "It blinks blue."

"Higher resistance = slower" is a vague explanation at best. Resistance is not even half the story here. So many 555 examples here that never mention the trigger capacitor. Try removing it, and see how well the thing oscillates!..

This might be because there aren't a lot of capacitors with adjustable capacitance out there.

No, it's not about that. My point is that most descriptions of adjusting the 555's timing cycle only speak of resistance. That timing is always metered by an RC network, but C is never discussed. I could make a similar circuit as you have here, with identical output but I'll use a 1uF capacitor. Without a proper explanation a beginner might think the value chosen for the capacitor is totally arbitrary, which it isn't. Sorry for my rant, I'm not picking on you and you haven't done anything wrong- I just want this point to be taken into consideration by anyone hoping to figure this stuff out..

Well, i myself am a bloody beginner with this stuff, so i probably did what i read a countless times, which is what your rant is about, ultimately. So thanks for the criticism. I got something to look into now. :)
