Everycircuit does not include the two + and - terminals on the op amp which are attached to the battery for voltage comparison.

Op Amps" are useful for a variety of things and are used widely for converting analog signals ( think wavy sin waves for Old TVs and Radio), to digital signal used in modern electronics.
Mostly, though, they help boost direct-current signal by drawing current and volts from the power source. Think of it as topping off the gas tank for your circuit.
