Good circuit for learning to read binary. I'm not so sure about that sine wave source though. You know you can make a source produce a square wave?

thanks I updated to a square wave. I'm still new to electronics..... is there a reason to use a square wave over a sine wave in this application?

Well done.

The square wave is normally representative of a logic clock or signal. A Sine wave is normally representative of power Source or analogue signal.

And a sinwave AC with its negative voltage might destroy the digital input protecting ESD diodes and more.

Why is the decimal dot grounded? http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6716575406358528

if you mean the ground at the bottom, that is not a decimal position... it's just a grounding node. Without the ground the circuit does not work.

The one at the very bottom of the circuit is fine. They meant the 7 segment displays, where you grounded the dot indicator.

Oh, fixed it! That was a complete accident , my bad. I didn't even realize it was there in all that mess of circuit pathways. thanks for pointing that out.
