Just slow the sim a little to 2ms/s,, all 5 v now, plus it is it shoots now.

The 9V from OpAmp does help to push several ampere over a single diode OR gate emulation into the pure right hand exploding d-flipflop output. Guys there are two main issues with this curcuit, mixed voltages is one.

I am, but he is talking about D flipflops. Shift registers dont blow up when you apply more than 5V

im talking about your rubbish implementation of an OR gate where two outputs only decoupled by a diode working against each other. This is not healthy for the flip flop and or opamp and also almost not predictable what will happen. Use an building block OR gate or make the hack complete with another diode and resistor. But this half hacked OR gate is rubbish.

There is nothing embarassing about explaining things the easy way. This app is mostly for beginners, so I think it is better they understand the problem too. Also, I dont think babies know what diodes are.

funny, he added a diode, but the pull down is missing, input is in LOW and LOW condition floating. Step by Step like a baby. You cant follow links (iPhone?), or you cant read circuits (baby)? How does an DRL (diode resistor logic) OR gate looks like? Check my first example link. Are you sure you know what a diode is? Or do you feel well prepared to answer any question about diodes? I guess you are not
