Just a simple diode / capacitor setup
In eu, you have 220/230v RMS, that's about 340v amplitude. Here you extract the peak to peak voltage, which can provide more power.
And yes, this circuit is from Electroboom.
I just really like his projects, and wanted to try and build some of his circuits here

@fhcduvegvf, this is an invention made by @electroboom, are you sure? I remember to have seen this circuit long time before @electroboom was born.

Maybe the type of circuit @Hurts. But the circuit is copied completely from Electroboom, even with the voltmeter.

Of course I got it from him, I just love leaning about his circuits by building them here and experimenting with them. Besides, apparently more people get inspired by his circuits here
