Sawtooth Wave Generator - 555 and Constant Current

This is a simple 555 based sawtooth generator circuit and a constant current source with a small bc558 or 2n3906 Transistor, and only 2 Diodes, with this circuit you can perform a Sweeper together with a VCO. A buffer operational amplifier must be added to the output so as not to load the circuit.

in reality the sawtooth voltage wont drop down to 0V, it will stop at 1/3 of supply, here at 1.667V rounded. This will also impact and double the frequency, instead of 37Hz you will get 74Hz ! So the sawtooth max is still at 2/3 but the min is at 1/3 and not ground. Here a work around for this of a million issues with 555 within EC. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6698789291950080
