Consider the resistor with value 30 k as an LDR , LDR has a property when light falls on it, it's resistance decreases otherwise it's around 30-40 kohms.when laser falls on ldr it resistance decreases and the led stop working.
Note :decrease the value of 30k resistor to around 30-40 ohm to see the led stop glowing.
