Ever wondered how you can syncronise incomming bits in an incomming serial signal? this is one way, the LC-resonance circle only needs a stimulation every couple bits in order to syncronise but it will keep roughly the correct clock. now the receiver knows what to read out because there is a bit every beat of the clock. This is useful in a bus system that only uses one conductor and only one bitrate.
