Does this biasing technique run into thermal run away issues?!
hurz
No
kiani
Then why the H biasing?!! the changes in Vbe, isn' t going to shift the biasing all over place.?!!
hurz
No
kiani
Then why is the H so popular in use?! Btw. Think politicians have something to learn from you @Hurz. ( as they neve say "yes" or " No").
hurz

First. Thermal runaway, no, because its already on its maximum of power point when cold! When it warms the power decreases. Second, each degree in temp does lower the Vbe correct, but this will be compensated by the 100k feedback. Third, here the 100k is the biasing and input swing is limited to less 5mV more means running on the exponentiell diode curve to create distortion. A H setup does need an extra emitter resistor, here for less gain a base (input) resistor would be fine to lower distortion.

This reply leaves no questions in anyones mind. Thank you + good karma for you.

A log amplifier!

Last comment, 20dB for a single transistor stage or you have to pay the price for distortion http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5501476305895424

Nothing short of perfect.and Btw thnx. @zorgrian for posting this very interesting cct. Good ideas never get old. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6097594320420864

Btw @ Hurz what makes EC alive, it is not the software APP. But it is this community plus EC that has turned and produced the nearest thing to artificial intalligance with real living neurol network. EC or any othe simulator without this Collective knowledge is a dead simulator.

@kiani, what is that overdriven nonsense for?
kiani

Exaggerated so showing oporation in near non linear region.
hurz

You demonstrate clipping, your karma flys away

Yrs i realised since last night. Cct. Is not what i want it to be. A nonlinesr amplifier ( two quadrant). But maybe it can be made to be. Gona try.

@lebutch. I wrote a wrap and gave it ti google translate, it came up with what i posted. But just now i put it back into english ( through google) , and, disaster, this is not what i wrote, it has changed it si it doesn' t ssy what i wanted it to say. Google translate sucks. Soory i am removing it.

BTW, I agree with the artificial intelligence comparison, insofar as collective conscious minds work together better than competitive minds.

This topology which is 'self biased' adjusts for differences in gain of the transistor. It has many advantageous characteristics. However, it does result in a lower input Z than is sometimes needed.

Thx. @zorg, didn' t give the cct. The attention it deserved,. The bend in the f/b resistor against Vbe,,,, looks like non linearity, , that could be due to Ccb, or it is how close to it, oporate. don't know. Looked at everything on ( sucking) google, no mention of this bend.
kiani

@ssh didn!t know you wrap.
kiani

@ssh if you know music aling with anybody interested, trolls can come along too. We could do organise EC gig. Best wrap competition. Where everyone votes for their favorate,. Like x factor.
kiani

A wrap plus a circuit.,, the circuit is the entery fee. Circuit wrap. The aim, at the end of the day lots of circuits and lots of wrap and with music. The circuit entry bring us a not new but a different understanding of the same matter. Mind over natter.

Rap, man rap; not wrap with the cat on the street corner; with his disorder. Who's only daughter has been caught by court order. Black man black; its the colour of velvet; The rhythm that melts it and the white hand That takes it. Hit man hit; he's the motherfucker that hides In the corner. Don't give him the order or you'll Find he's much taller, than law and order.

Atomic kitten, quantum chicken. Rap if not wrap is not wrap,. so lets wrap rap.
kiani

@hurz invalid entry. Rap has to have more than one wrap.( just add another line and it be ok)

Btw why the curve ( in the base voltage and current feedback resistor, the v/t curve! ) . Is it operating nesr the non linear region!?
hurz
Why 1132mVpp input voltage?
zorgrian
Try the same plot with the 'normal' H bridge 4 resistor bias setup. See what happens...
zorgrian
Of course, if you pump too much voltage into this 'self' biased setup, you will hit a clip
zorgrian
Someone here might like to argue the existence of linear clipping?
kiani
In a H bias the curve is in iRb / Vc. Where as in this cct. Curvature is in iRb/Vb. Cause there is no emitter resistor vb must be set up very close to 0.7 v, ( peak) . The f/b arranges the operation very close to non linear regions of ( ib) . . Is it the non linearity that cause the cliping or the cliping that causr the non linearity. Of course the amps. Are set up for max. Swing, which is where things go non linear. So it is ironic that cliping happens. When a tras. Is used as a switched, isn "t it biased on the linear part of non linear section of vce/ic plot? So isn"t that cliping and linear?!

What a mess of nonsense
hurz

@kiani, spend some effort and compare them for yourself with the help of everycircuit. Only frequency/phase is bad for a selfadjusting setup everything else is more or less equal. Clipping (large signal performance), THD, noise, impedance in/out. But less components
kiani

Agreed totally nonsense, i read 📖 wiki on biasing f/b resistor, only a biasing technique, with the maths. Is much clearer. Should have read about it instead of looking for s/th that isn' t there. Thx. More the same.

Hmm

@zorg meant there is non sense in my messy attempt to describe my understanding and not the cct.
kiani

" I " wonder what happens if it is ran from a cinstant current source. I an gina chk it out. The whole cct. Is a potential divider, where one branch 🌿 is playful.

Turned it into a log amp. Any thoughts on this?! http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5491245962231808
zorgrian
So what is the intended use of this 'log' amp??
kiani
No idea! (Leaves us with more possibilities.)
zorgrian
I propose that we should use the log amp, as a powdered power fusion energy source. First, make the device, second grind the amp into super fine dust (sub atomic dust). Then, we use the exponential logarithmic curve to produce infinite energy using ....
kiani
The infinite energy is needed by the universe to exist on the edge of existance. Somehow it won' t let us tap into it's "dark" energy to use it to drive our cars, spparantly it ( the universe) has better ideas.

How about a ninja multiplyer, ?!

Reality is an illusion, admittedly a rather persistent one
kiani

Here a multiplyer ( attempt) using the new log amp. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5272988340715520
kiani

Persistency is the proof of the truth of illusion. Isn' t it ?! A dream is a true and real illusion. Amongst lies, truth is an illusive fact, while lie(s) only try to be.
