Schmitt trigger yes. But why L ? Its a relaxation oscillator. Resonance would be at 50kHz but it does oscillate at 35kHz. So we can replace the L with an R and its still the same function. Check this http://everycircuit.com/circuit/4558470622478336

And driving a L 100uH is like a low resistinve load R 1Ohm maybe. Actually then we get the identical frequency of 35kHz. So the L is not needed at all. Its the Rds which keeps the frequency.
