Why do you use the transformer in parallel with your AC voltage source?

The transformer is not mandatory for the circuit to work, but it's often used in circuits like this to reduce the voltage amplitude for domestic devices

But do you realise the transformer really is doing nothing since you have shorted it out?

You have links that put the primary and secondary in parallel.

When you remove them you will need to add a ground to the primary side otherwise SIM will not work.
