In Everycircuit there is only 1 type of 7 segment but actually 7 segment displays are of two types common anode and common cathode and if you want to drive common anode 7 segment IC number is 74LS47 and for common cathode IC number is 74LS48 these are BCD to 7 segment decoders

Any tips how to improvise the 7447 to binary to seven segment decoder?

74LS47 has open collector outputs so it can drive a common anode display directly.
