The circuit on the left (transmitter) scrambles the input signal, and circuit on the right (receiver) descrambles it. In order for the signal to be correctly restored at the output, the 4-bit keywords in the transmitter and the receiver must match. You must reset the simulation if you change the keywords in order to synchronize the scramblers.
