This circuit shall demonstrate, why it's always safer first to cut minus from battery than plus. Experiment with the switches.

I hope I got it right here in EC. When - (mass) is still connected when you accidentaly touch mass of the car you got a short circuit of a current more than 1 amp. If you first disconnect mass from battery and then touch a mass body (metal) of the car, nothing happens

I mean when you work on plus and then accidentaly touch mass with a screwdriver or other tool

Schmobi2001 is correct. The logic of electricity still applies the same rule here. Grounds are always last to leave the connection between the polarity of battery +/- and live sources. In Canada, its under the electrical code for this too, forcing the manufacturer of products required to be plugged in walls must have ground longer than both prongs above the ground prong. Its for the safety sake because if its not grounded properly, it was still electrical shock hazard that time.
