This is better than many CE amplifiers we see here, but: things do not work without a power supply, so you have to add one (9 to 15V should be fine); this type of amp has an high output impedance and the gain is dependent on the load impedance (the higher the impedance, the higher the gain), so a 8Ohm speaker would kill the output voltage. Put something above 10k as load. Also, two CE amps in series will have a gain of approximately 1000, so you have to lower your input voltage to something like 100uV.
