Class AA amplifier

Since I've covered most of the normal amplifier classes i decided to dabble in some irregular circuits and I made a class AA amp. See in class AB amps one half of the output devices completely shuts down at some point. Well in class AA the output device that normally is inactive is now set to always have some idle current through it. This minimises overall THD rating and gives a THD of 0.03%@ 3W which is not bad at all.

For me it looks like a pure class A amp, were this upper output stage NPN transistor network is like a 20Ohm resistor.

The site i took the idea off said that this is a Super Class A amps (which is jvc's version of Technics class AA amp). It somewhat fits the description wouldn't you say?

Ooh i lost it i might upload the original circuit somewhere and send you a link. The original one has a different preamp but the power stage is as this is.

Looks like Sugden output topology
