Transformed /A/C voltage source running a low amperage/voltage dc motor and an LED; the two in parallel to have equal voltage supply for each. Notice that I have added a 2200uF capacitor downstream of the rectifier circuit, in parallel with the load, to smooth the output to the load. In practice, this would be 240V rated. I have also put in a voltage divider using the 1.4 kohm and 400 ohm resistors to control the load voltage to approximately 1 volt. The 400 ohm resistance of the second resistor in the divider (bleeder resistor) was calculated using the 10 % rule. The 1.4 kohm was chosen by trial and error rather than calculation. Calculated resistance for the maximum 3.3 mA load at 1 Volt was actually 3.3 kohm. It turns out, the indicated circuit voltage is much lower.at about 8.8 volts at the 1st resistor (see wave form)
