I must admit that this is quite impressive. The message has little meaning in this venue and as such is unimportant to the teaching of this demonstration. A different set of words might be less off putting. However, the hard coded circuitry is fantastic. Great job reinhold.

Yes, it is a good circuit. @reinhold continuously demonstrates a fairly comprehensive understanding of electronics. And with this example, we learn something about him as well. Anything at all can be displayed, yet a message was chosen that is known to cause trouble. Deliberate provocation may not be the intention, but we know he knows what he's doing, and that says something about a person. Jesus wasn't a stir the pot and piss people off kinda guy, and I don't think he had the type of ego that it would please him seeing his name in lights..

Has this been built on a bread board? I would like to see a working version.

What I cannot comprehend is why anyone considers the name of Jesus as being troublesome or off putting, all the man ever propagated was love, he gave up his life for love, the problem is ignorance of the man and his life, it's offensive whenever we're confronted by moralistic issues...

If anyone published "Mother Teresa" recipient of the Nobel peace prize for her charitable work using 7-segment displays, we wouldn't be having this conversation regardless of her religious persuasion. If anyone published "Jesus Christ" who was murdered for his compassion for mankind, some are offended owing to perceived religious connotations. Again I reiterate ignorance in this regard. I don't have to advocate my appreciation of Jesus Christ from rooftops nor engage in any form of proselytism because love isn't a commodity such as shares traded on a local stock market. Jesus is all about love. To suggest anything else is sheer ignorance. So in summary, Jesus = Love not hell fire and brimstone, not totalitarianism. Calls encouraging compunction shouldn't be frowned upon nor taken offensively as love is the primary motivation and any forum at any time should be condoned.

Thank you for your courteous demeanour, I usually publish something appropriate for the occasion such as Easter but rarely do I publish anything outside these occasions, however, I don't have issues with anyone else publishing outside these occasions as previously discussed.
