Pity not all the "string" leds work though and i havent a clue how to even start debugging

Very clever. I'm not sure, but the problem with the 'strings' might be limited to mobile devices. Has anybody viewed it on a desktop?

Logic high is too low - change logic high to 2.28V then set all lamps at 2V and the rest of the "string" will work...😎

Yep. That fixed it. However, had to go to 2.4V for the logical HIGH.
