You can create six phase directly from three phase. Look at my 3 phase to 6 phase DC rectifier, use that transformer layout to create the second set of phases.

6,12, 24 phase systems are commonly used for long time in very high power rectifiers. Phase Multiplication of 3phase system is easily obtainable using special transformers called sometimes the "rectiformers" as to indicate that u have in mind this special transformer type. Such multiphase rectiffication is very effective cuz as number of phases grows up bare rectifier output ripple amplitude gets smaller and frequency of those beats that left increase. As in high power rectifiers use of capacitors as ripple filters is not possible in any way and use of inductances is also restricted heavily for air cored coil assemblies only such ripe reduction is a bless requiring typically a 20-50mH aircored inductor coil put in series to deliver perfectly smooth current output over whole desired load range. Air core is required cuz when current having several thousands amperes under voltages used in range 1-3 kV for DC no useful feromagnetic material exist that serve having so large dc component without falling into deep saturation and cancell any inductance increase. Caps are without any discussion unles u create supercap having several farads of capacitance under at least 6kV of max voltages A whose not need to be replaced every year due to limited lifetime and cost of it is comparable to indestructable coil that not need replacement due to wear at all. (Not saying that they have safety certificates cuz when u cause heavy short in max loaded 800V loaded 1000uF power electrolyte it explode like small grenade. I do not want to see a 10Fcap loaded up to 5kV becoming accidentaly shorted by droped large copper busbar that rips off from wall for example)

You learned us something new Secuture. But don't forget super caps really suck, they barely compete in the micro world where they were designed to work.

No actually a car starters based on 12V supercap assembly is quite nice. Very high curent discharges can be safely used, and heavy current charging without need to follow annoying charging scheme prequisitions that have most of rechargeable cells. U need to pump curents into cap more u pump faster u fill it up no fancy voltage pulsing and switching load supply characteristics every 10min from curent source like to voltage source like like in li-ions or any other modern powercells.
