Basic Delay Circuit - Useful for Car Fan Relay control (So the fans dont turn on and off too often and burn out the starter coils.) This example is using the ECU's 5v output which it converts from an Earth (Going Low) signal to output the 5v. - The light is the 40A relay to drive the fans - The two 5v are from the same source - The switch on the right is a simulated Ignition switch

The fan motor is powered by 12V, the computer sends the signal directly to the relay, which connects the fan directly to the battery

You should not load the capacitor whithout any resistance, it could destroy the car fuse.
