.Up to 3.7V constant votage, high current is controlled by adjustable regulator using Texas Instrument's datasheets. It has improved ripple rejection, allows high current applications, and adjustable voltage.. Please note that it will run lower voltage, only if you lower your DC voltage input than 3.7V.
Regulator to provide a variable voltage, for your light systems if you planned to reuse your old blinkers or headlamps, which i planned to use.
Instruction - may not work in EC but working in real world; please just use the large or larger heatsink if you intended to push LM317T to the limit. (Will finish list in below soon)
Op Amp represents the large heatsinked LM317T.
Red resistor is R1
Blue resistor is R2
Orange capacitor is Cadj
Green voltmeter is Vref
Last voltmeyer on the right is fixed voltage of any currents at 3.7V; it will not go any further but will go down at same voltage as DC source if lower than 3.7V.
LM317T with heatsink
2x 10uF 16v or 25v capacitors
1x 100nF code z103 capacitor
1x 1/2 watt 390ohm resistor
1x 1/4 watt 270ohm resistor
Any input up to V as per datasheet specification.
Higher the voltage, hotter LM317T will work, but it don't make senses by having LM317T to sink much of wasted energy into the heat.
It's your call, but it's ideal application such as 3V to 12v regulator as constant VDC source for any applications.
I haven't tested the high current application yet for high rate.
