A LIN-to-LOG converter that is based on fet controlled VCA rather than prone to everything that causes bad operation BJT based log amp.
Typically u will want to see a JFET transistor 
and such one is used in orginal circuit.
But here we have only MOS fella...:|
...so i need to make it MOS friendly.

i would apply a voltage source to the mosfet gate to get Vgs into negative range like for a real JFET.

in this circuit u can invert output (or not) through inverting transistor control voltage.
