You have built a set/reset circuit. These are some other forms with transistors to do that function. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5224974367064064 and http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5250415148662784 check the bottom right circuit in the post with several circuits

Thanks wyoelk, that’s a cool circuit. I think I’ll put it together later. I like your 555 circuits as well.
