Converts the absolute phase difference between two signals into a relative voltage. Signals are fed into amplifiers set to saturate at 5 and 0 volts to drive the inputs of an xor gate. This gate is the main component that makes up the phase detector. The xor gate goes high only when the inputs are different, so the further out of phase the signals are, the longer the xor gate outputs high. Capacitor smooths and filters the output. I'm just now learning about this stuff so help and tips are greatly appreciated!!
