One hot circuit with warning for dual outputs

I'm creating a circuit as a part of an RC car controller, where I don't want to be able to accidentally activate back and forward or left and right at the same time. I have a limited number of 74HC series chips and didn't have any XOR or XNOR gates on hand.
I do however have loads of AND and NOTs.
This circuit is build from a reference circuit on Wikipedias Address Decoder article.

NB. 74HC139 could probably be used for the same purpose.

Too bad you don't have a bunch of NAND gates instead of those AND. They can be configured to operate as any other gate you want, if you have enough of them..
