You don't really need to configure the properties, if what you mean is reading the settings in the sim. The default properties closely resemble the characteristics of a 3904 already. If you're asking how to use the transistor, basically, a small amount of current applied to the base will allow a larger current to pass from collector to emitter. The proportion of the two currents is called "beta" or "hfe" and the default value of 100 is about right for a small signal transistor such as a 3904.
