So by only keeping the first logic train, and connecting pins a and d on the first counter to the in puts of an and gate, then the out out of that and gate to the reset of the first counter and the up to the second timer. Then hook up a and d of the second timer to another and gate and have that one reset the second timer. That will make it count to 99. If you wanted it to.
