Flashing LED Circuit

Need some help... The LED is supposed to flash. Have I done something wrong? Re: thanks for the help. Lowering resistance on resistor 2 made it flash.

Lowering the value of the capacitor will increase the the frequency of the flashing, due to how long it takes to charge and discharge it. the standard value is usually 10nF with the frequency being controlled by the two resistors

you also need to lower the value of that second resistor A LOT, from 470k to 500 ohms, that's if you set the value of the capacitor to 10nF

If you want a precise frequency of how fast you want it to flash, you can use a calculator to input the frequency, and it will tell you the recommended values of the components I recommend this one: http://www.daycounter.com/Calculators/NE555-Calculator.phtml

Note that the simulation is slowed down by default to 1ms/s
