Basically a nice simple working mosfet circuit, the way I like it....the 5v gate supply could be from an Arduino pin or battery etc. Just a couple of suggestions: alter the lamp voltage from your 10v to become 12v to match the supply, and look at your 1.29v drain-source volt drop across your mosfet (power and heat waste there)....see how to lower that to almost zero volts for EC here by altering the transconductance: http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6359306484318208
