Relay coil protection with diode, not necessary!?

@kiani, the diode would be to protected what? The relay? Or the transistor, which is not present?

Personally, I feel you don't need the diode for this application, most OEM's don't include one in factory installs anyways, but you could always add one if you wanted

I don't know, they are more thsn likely not needed, it was just a thought,, but the windings of such relays are man enough to handle turn off spikes.

It was supposed to release, had to tweak it's opening voltage, works now
