Leds in this app are all configured at 20ma and 2v. In real life they are all configured differently by color, size... In this circuit with Ohms law_ _ _ _ 5v(Voltage) - 2v(led volts)= 3v ÷ 20ma(led amperage) = 150 ohms. ______ ___ So you either need a current limiting resistor to protect the led or a lower power supply voltage.

@j5892000, well spotted! 0.1mA up or down and it doesn’t flicker. Hardly gonna be an intentional design feature :-)

It’s just on the crossover point between illuminated and blown - maybe a rounding up or down in the maths causes this.

....and if you move ground reference to other side of current source it doesn’t do it.
