Why is EveryCircuit so laggy on android!? I've recently got myself a new android phone and it's fast, had an old iphone5 before. What I've noticed is besides the sim speed improvement here on EC the user-interface is frustratingly unresponsive when the sim is running. On my older ios phone even though it was slower running sim but everything else was instantaneous, from panning the screen to toggling the switches. My new phone got the latest qualcom 835 on oreo but even pausing the sim sometimes takes ages to respond! Can't understand why EC user-interface is so laggy on android cos all other demanding apps like 3D games run great without any ui lag! Could be the developers used tools that weren't very well optimised for android, or android is not suited to this type of app?? Anyone like to chime in with their thoughts or experiences?

Usually the latestest operating system, they push it out before its %100 compatable. Wait for updates.

Would like to believe that but had tried it on older android versions and same problem unfortunately :(

Some circuits functionaly delay input commands.

Amlesh have you tried like panning or zooming the screen while sim is running?

Noticed using Chrome on PC has laggy ui problems but nowhere near as bad android. Me think Igor/developers have used some cross development tools for chrome and android but ios version was written separately, me thinks

And chrome version hammers the cpu, not efficient/optimised at all

Sometimes it could be due throttling on behalf of the kernel so it doesnt eat your cpu/ram althought it doesnt do that with games since i think those alert the kernel before they do any power heavy operations. It works fine on my heavily modded S5 :/

@roops on an Android, I have noticed this in some circuits that have a lot happening in them. I cannot verify what happens on a IOS

Thanks guys. Then okay maybe I need to re-evaluate using different phone brands, the only android phones I have at hand are Sony Xperia

@x35m95 and @Amlesh087 can you let me know which version of android you got? Thanks

@x35m95 if it's a case of throttling then would expect the sim running speed to slow down too, but there's a chance you could be right. I gonna try getting hold of other brands to some testing

Well now have tried EC on a Samsung S8 (nougat) and it works smoothly. Also tried on older Xperia Z3 (marshmallow) and is little jerky ui but admittedly is smoother than my present Xperia Xz1 compact (oreo). Looks as though there's something specific with Sony's implementation of the os that EC don't like, maybe one of the Xperia services running in the background is conflicting? And that combined with oreo which may have compatibility issues?? Hmm more testing is needed...

Samsung Galaxy S5 running nougat :) Might be something to do with Oreo since it is still in somewhat experimental phase because of the new ways it does its "tasking" and how it divides its resources. Like you said, it might also be a background service that is given higher priority than EC

Yeah that does seem the case. Be interested to know why this only affects EC, all other similar demanding apps i tried on oreo either work without problems or just don't work at all if they're incompatible. At least there's hope with the oreo 8.1 update might resolve something but I doubt it, won't hold my breath on EC ever getting any more updates cos it feels as the developers have abandoned supporting it :(
