When the SPST switch is open, the 10K pulldown resistor ensures that the NPN bipolar transistor is turned off and that the motor is off. Closing the SPST switch will turn the transistor on and hence the motor on. The motor is limited to 80.1 rpm but feel free to fine tune the motor settings to whatever rpm range you desire. Enjoy...😎
