Clocking provided by six step counter made from D flip flops.  The logic input in the top centre swaps V & W phases to change field rotation.  Input on the top right is enable. 

phase swap circuit seems convoluted, does anyone have a better way of reversing field rotation?

nah that doesn't work, that just shifts W from 240° to 60° when U=0°
