This circuit measures the capacitance of a capacitor (lower middle connected to the green wire) and illuminates an LED at one of four states to indicate the magnitude of the capacitance (red for low, green for high). Adjust the capacitor between about 92nF to 130nF to illuminate each LED state.
This circuit can be used with a capacitive moisture sensor to indicate moisture levels in soil/air/tank/etc.
