First off this circuit is by NO means HiFi but it does work and demonstrates what can be done with such a simple circuit.
For the real circuit I used a BC337 transistor and for the transformer, an old mains transformer ( 240V rms in / 24V rms out )
The 215 ohm resistor represents the D.C. resistance of the primary winding and the 14.5 ohm resistor the D.C. resistance of the secondary winding. The 32 ohm represents the headphone load.
Power was from 8 AA NiMH batteries
