Simple not gate for beginners

This is not a good example for beginners. In a real circuit the transistor would burn out straight away as the base emitter voltage is 5V and base current several amps.

In addition, when you open the switch the transistor base is left floating.

One solution, add a 100k pull down resistor directly from base to ground. Add a 10k resistor in series with the base to limit base current.

Thank you brother

You’re welcome. At least by adding the 2k resistor you’ve reduced the base current substantially.
