The circuit works by first filtering the square wave generated by the 555 timer using a RC filter this voltage is then amplified using a BJT with a bias of 5 volt after that the DC component of the signal is removed using a 1 microfarad capacitor then finally the voltage is boosted using a transformer with a 1:10 turn ratio.
