The battery dishes out ~2A Ampers, th bulb solks in +- 4 Ampers..

@secuture, you can recommend some BJTs to come close to what you demonstrate? BD1xx or even a 2N3055 older types i dont have

In fact it seem a divide by 2 current amplifier,, transistors. Maybe, just maybe Mj,, series.

I use this little inverter for powering 8watt fluorescent lamp from small 12volt 1.2Ah lead-acid supply. (i modify this circuit a little simply using divided inductors in resonant branch instead of divided caps and use small cfl transformer as one of the inductors (and use it as main output). I use BD438,BD437 complementary transistors.
