This is an attempt to create a simple high voltage generator suitable for supplying the high voltage needed to create decent sound from a 12AU7 tube. The pulse generator could be replaced with a 555 timer. It does the job very nicely in a simulated world.... B U T -------> This is a no go situation because if I breadboard this it will probably not actually work!

As I remember, the 12 in 12au7 was for 12 volts to power filament.

that will breadboard fine, I've made cascades up to a few kv on mine. plate voltage can go up to 300V

Yes the 12au7 has heating filaments that are designed to be run at 12 volts. However, the plate or grid voltage was designed to be run at 200 volts or more.

Faceblast, yeah I will breadboard the circuit. I'm concerned that the zener limiter device is actually shorted or at least has nothing to limit the current. This seems to work in the simulation but I'm not sure a real zener will be happy like this.

I want to avoid using a typical three pin voltage regulator as this type of device won't run at high voltage
