The sum of the voltage drops in the cir- cuit is equal to the given supply voltage. Total Resistance R = R1+R2 = 100+200 R = 300Ω Current I = V /R = 300 /300 = 1A Voltage drop V1 = I × R1 = 1 × 100 = 100V Voltage drop V2 = I × R2 = 1 × 200 = 200V V = V1 + V2 300 V = 100V + 200 V 300 V = 300 V The sum of the voltage drops in the circuit is equal to the supply voltage.
