This circuit demonstrates an amplifier stage with grounded-emitter transistor topology. If you compare the shape of waveform between input and output of the stage, you can clearly see its notable distortion. It's because of nonlinear nature of transistor's gain. This circuit also does not have a stable operating point when the temperature of the transistor changes. The solution to the problem of distortion and temperature drift is to establish some form of negative feedback, as I demonstrate in a separate circuit. An overall voltage gain of the stage is around 200.
