1. Blue trace is the Output 2. Green trace is the Control Voltage The gain is inversely proportional to the magnitude of the control voltage. The Raw Output is actually the collector of the first transistor (The Orange trace), which has nearly no delay in response to the change in gain, but the second stage does have somewhat significant delay, but it’s there to follow the raw signal/buffer, and through use of a bypass capacitor or inductor, also reduce variations in the D.C. offset, which occurs as a byproduct of the gain adjustment. If anyone has any ideas on how to better compensate for the dc offset without introducing as much delay, please feel free to let me know in the comments!
